If you're like me, you're slowly running out of ideas to do with your kids this Summer. We can't go to the pool (which we did pretty much every day for the last few years), camps are few and far between, and our playgrounds are closed. Have no fear! I have a fun and easy DIY craft that you can do with your kids that is so easy. I promise! This easy kids flower press DIY included a walk around our neighborhood to find flowers, so you could draw this out a bit if you needed to. It's also great for little ones because the flowers are at their height! For our walk (and during our craft time!) we snacked on our favorite Sunbelt Bakery Chewy Granola Bars.
Sunbelt Bakery makes bakery-fresh tasting snacks made with no preservatives! I feel good about giving them to my kids and they actually love the taste! We tried their seasonal flavors which are out of this world. How can you say no to Coconut Cream, Lemon Merengue, and Key Lime Pie. Yum! Sunbelt Bakery Chewy Granola Bars make the perfect grab-and-go snack too. They're also the perfect snack while working on your craft!
the girls going on a flower hunt!
The girls throughly enjoyed their Coconut Cream Sunbelt Bakery Chewy Granola Bars!
We started off on a flower hunt around our neighborhood. This was so much fun for the girls and they loved searching for all the different flowers. Once we got home, I cut press and seal food wrap into a long rectangle keeping in mind that it would be folded in half once we had our flowers in. Then I had the girls place their flowers how they wanted. Make sure to have them put their flowers on the 'sticky' side of the press and seal.
The girls painted popsicle sticks for the frame, and I had those laid down while they placed their flowers for sizing. Once they had their flowers how they wanted, we folded the press and seal over and placed a few large books on top. I had them smash the books down to 'press' the flowers. Then, I cut the sides down to where we wanted them to match up with the size of the popsicle sticks.

I know this isn't a true press since we'd use press paper for that, but this was still a fun craft and easy for little kids to do. Once our flowers sat under the heavy books for a bit we glued our painted popsicle sticks on as a frame. You'll glue one side to the press and seal and the other one to close up the frame. You can use hot glue to add a string to make a hanging frame or leave as is!
they're so proud of their art work!
