Cold and flu season is officially upon us. When we put the girls in daycare and McKinlee started pre-school the colds started rolling in. Last year, I swear we were sick with something new every other week. It was awful! I’m sure this year won’t be any different. I’d like to get ahead of the game and work on preventing them, but I know sickness is inevitable with a couple of toddlers so let’s talk about how to treat those nasty cold symptoms. I’ve honestly never really paid attention to our cold and flu medication. When we’ve needed it, we just buy whatever we find at the store and take it! We were recently introduced to a healthier line of medication from Genexa, and after reading the benefits I’m not sure that we can go back.
I have the essentials packed in my diaper bag
Genexa is the first and only certified organic and non gmo medicine. What?! How has someone not created something like this before? I read a lot about their story and I love that their company was started with two dads on a mission to provide cleaner medicine for families. Years and years of research and extensive testing (beyond what the FDA requires) went in to creating Genexa products. You can read more about their story and mission here. Their pledge is to be healthy, be sustainable, be organic, be transparent, and be good.
We received Genexa’s Cold Crush to try out. There is an adult version and a children’s version (ages 3+). This medicine treats congestion & mucus, cough & sore throat, and runny nose & sneezing. Lucky for me, I had a cold when we received our Genexa package and it really helped my congestion especially. Genexa also offers an allergy medication, Arnica Advantage (for pain relief), Flu Fix, Jet Leg RX, Leg Cramp RX, Sleepology, and Stress Relief (I really need to try this one!). Their medication is sold in over 15,000 US stores and even on Amazon! Click here to see where to purchase Genexa near you.
These are all foods that are rich in vitamin C. Typically you think of just oranges, but these all have the same amount of vitamin C or more to help combat sickness!
Cold/Flu Season Prep
There is nothing worse than getting hit with the flu or an awful cold and having NOTHING in the house to help! Make sure to stock up on Genexa medicine now to have on hand when a cold/flu hits. I also swear by Sprite, saltines and noodle soup (thanks mom!). You’ll want to stick to the B.R.A.T. diet as much as possible (Bananas, Rice, Applesauce, Toast). I swear I always have to Google this one when it hits! Genexa also has a great blog with a ton of awesome tips. Click here for their essential flu season grocery list and here for their printable flu season prep checklist. Use code FIGHTFLU2017 for 20% off on Genexa’s website to stock up now!
