We are in full-blown Spring-cleaning mode! I'm so excited to share one of my favorite things to clean and organize! Your refrigerator can get pretty dirty really quick, and I have a few tips/ideas to help keep yours clean. Learning how to organize your refrigerator shelves doesn't have to be scary!
My first tip to get your refrigerator in tip-top shape is to take everything out! Empty the entire fridge and determine what has expired. Toss them! Next, take out the vegetable and fruit drawers and rinse them with hot soapy water. Then, I wipe down all surfaces. One of my favorite features about our is all the storage space! It has so many extra drawers, so we are able to easily keep items organized.
It is easy to keep the exterior of my Whirlpool® Fingerprint-Resistant Finish Refrigerator clean, as it is truly fingerprint resistant which is a bit of a life changer when you have little kids. The adjustable gallon door bins are also easily removed, so you can soak those in warm soapy water to clean.
I also love the small items bin to store things like butter, string cheese, etc. No more losing those small items!
I love organizing my refrigerator using clear containers to keep like items together. This has helped tremendously in lessening waste. These clear containers also look great in our Whirlpool® refrigerator. Another trick I learned is to store your berries in clear glass containers instead of keeping them in their clamshells. This helps to keep them fresh longer, plus they are pretty to look at!
The tuck shelves in our Whirlpool® refrigerator are really helpful when we have taller items like milk (or wine!).
We love the refrigerated exterior drawer to store meats, cheeses, and snacks so the girls can easily reach them. It even lets you adjust temperature controls and dividers based on what you’re storign. Our last refrigerator didn't have that, and it's been a life saver!
I like to try to label sections within our refrigerator so that when we are out or re-stock, we know exactly where to put these items back in – an extra help if you have your kids help unload groceries! These were purchased online, and there are a lot of great options out there. This really helps keep things organized.
Most refrigerators I've had in the past have had a nightmare of a freezer. Things get lost so easily. With our Whirlpool® refrigerator’s freezer section, there are so many extra drawers and spaces that it's easy to stay organized. It has triple-tier freezer storage and even a thin space in the front to store pizza boxes. Genius! I try to store like size items together, such as breakfast foods on the top drawer, meat on the second, and frozen meals on the bottom.
We love the moveable dividers so we can store larger items or smaller items.
One of my other favorite features of our Whirlpool® refrigerator is the water dispensing system. You can select the amount of water in ounces that you want it to dispense, and all you have to do is put your cup below and it dispenses the right amount for you! You wouldn't believe how this helps and I don't have to stand around waiting for my water to dispense.
