The Most Used Nursery Item You'll Ever Purchase

You have just found out you're pregnant so you start researching baby items and find that the lists are overwhelming.  Where do you even start?!  You make your list of the necessities.  Crib?  Check.  Changing table?  Check.  Glider?  Check. After having two babies, we have definitely learned a lot about what the must haves, the nice to haves, and the not so necessary items are.  Today, I wanted to share what our number one splurge item is for your nursery.

The Most Important Nursery Purchase

Obviously, the crib will be the most necessary item.  You will need a place for your sweet babe to sleep every night.  Plus, they can continue using the crib after they've transitioned to a big kid bed (with a convertible kit).  Madison is still in her crib and I am happy about that.  At around 18 months, McKinlee was already getting out of her crib which was not a fun transition for us.  For the first few months though, Madison slept in our room in a bassinet.  We didn't even need her crib until she was around three months.  Our crib was purchased from buybuy BABY and it is still going strong through two babies!  The brand is Munire but this particular style has been discontinued.  For an almost identical one, click here.  The one item we did use from the get go, was our glider.

When we were pregnant with McKinlee, we didn't give the glider much thought and ordered one from Amazon for around $80.  I didn't realize just how much we would use that thing.  Seriously, it was used every day, multiple times per day and throughout the night!  Ryan and I did not do much research in picking one out, and we wore it into the ground...literally.  One day, the glider had it and collapsed to the floor.  Luckily, neither of the girls were sitting on it.  We still read stories to McKinlee in the rocking chair and she is almost 4!

I always tell my mom friends to splurge on their glider for baby's nursery.  We spent so many hours feeding and rocking our babies in the glider, you'll want to make sure it's super comfortable.  After our first glider collapsed, we decided we needed another one since Madison was still so young.  We turned to buybuy BABY this time to get the perfect glider.  Since we don't have a buybuy BABY close by, we selected ours online.  buybuy BABY'S website has really detailed reviews and you can compare different gliders with each other.  We narrowed our choices down to the Delta Children Reston Swivel Rocker in Cream.  Our new rocking chair is the most comfortable chair I've ever sat in!  I could seriously stay there forever.  Madison has been falling asleep on me in the rocker and it's been so nice to just sit there and rock her for a bit (comfortably!).  I would not spend less than around $250 on your rocker.  You really do get what you pay for!

buybuy BABY offers super fast shipping and if you sign up for their email list, they will send you coupons often!  Our new rocker was delivered to our door step in less than a week.  The rocking chair was SO easy to put together too (or at least thats what Ryan said).  The reviews also noted this, so I was happy to find that those were true.  I think the rocker is nice enough looking that we'll be able to use it in a different room after we're done with it in Madison's.

Nursery Updates

We did a few small changes to Madi's room and I wanted to share them with you too.  We received the most darling glitter banner from Glitter Party Co with Madison's name and I was so excited to put it above her crib.  It is just perfect!  I also updated her gallery wall and got some new curtains.  I'm kind of obsessed with them.
