With the start of a new year comes the itch to organize! Anyone else? It's a great time to go through your home. Purge/donate what you don't need and organize what's left!
I'm a sucker for great organization tools. The Container Store, Target and Amazon are my go-to places for organization. They have the best items to organize your home. The prices are great and they have so many option to choose from. I wanted to share what I found to organize our kitchen!

First, we're going to start with the pantry. I swear, no matter how hard I try our pantry always ends up looking messy. I've tried every bin out there, and decided I needed taller and larger clear bins (the ones we had before were too short). I like being able to see inside vs. rattan bins or solid plastic bins that I've seen used elsewhere. Rattan bins look really pretty (don't get me wrong!) but I've found that items get lost in them.
I can't believe I'm showing you this, but here is our pantry before!
I hate wasting food, so we use mainly clear bins for our pantry storage. We picked up this really great can storage unit, risers, and a bin that has an open side to it. I'm using this for cereal. I also grabbed this white bin that is somewhat see-through for bags of chips/crackers.
When cleaning out our pantry, I start by taking EVERYTHING out. I set it on our dining room table and check if we have anything that needs tossed or paired down. Then, I lay out all my organizing items on the shelves that I want our food to go on. I like to leave some extra space if we end up adding food.
For the girls snacks, I got this taller divided turntable . It works great for pouches, granola bars, and fruit snacks. It's at their level, so they can grab their snack don't have to ask for help. We use these OXO Good Grips POP® containers for things like pasta and opened crackers. On the other side of what you can see here are our larger cooking items (like our crockpot, airfryer, etc) as well as food storage.
We recently switched over to a Nespresso machine (life changing!) and the drawer below wasn't getting much use. I decided to turn it into a coffee/tea drawer. To organize these, I used bamboo drawer dividers. If you haven't tried these yet, you must! I have them in almost all our drawers for utensils, towels, our junk drawer, etc.
It's so satisfying to see our drawers all organized with these bamboo dividers!
Kids dinnerware can tend to get really messy! In our old home we had them all in a drawer and they were always a disaster. Our new home has plenty of cupboard space, so I decided to make this area just for kids items. A trick to creating an organized cupboard are these metal risers. Instead of stacking items, create smaller stacks which keeps them more organized.
I also used this clear storage container for storing cups. Before, I just set them in the cupboard but they were getting quite messy. This bin helps keep them in one spot. For our other kids items like snack cups and to-go cups, I used another one of these white bins. They're a really good size for containing all of our cups and fit perfectly in our cupboard. Again, I left some blank space if we need to add to this space.
Next up is the dreaded under sink area. Why does this always end up such a mess?! In our old home we stored our garbage can under our sink, so it was always extra messy. We added a pull out cabinet for garbage and recycling and it's been really nice to free up this space.
We mainly store cleaning products under our sink. First, I took everything out from under our sink. Then, I decided what I needed to keep and what could go. I added this pull out wire basket for cleaning supplies I use often. This organization tool is really nice because you can mount it to the cabinet so it feels like a built in. It would work really well under a bathroom sink too.
The small/narrow clear storage bin is perfect for our sponges. I left extra space in here in case we need to add anything else. Again, I like to try not to overstuff our cabinets.
Does anyone else end up with a ton of random kitchen towels? I decided that this year, I would pare them down and donate most of them. I grabbed these fresh white kitchen towels and organized them using these bamboo drawer dividers. It's nice to have just one color instead of a bunch of random towels and our drawer isn't exploding with them each time I open it.
