We are sharing the best place to see sunflowers just outside of Portland Oregon! A short drive west you'll find West Union Gardens which is by far the most stunning and breathtaking sunflower field. This is the one I would visit if you had to pick! They are expecting peak bloom around August 10th, 2023. Entrance is $5 per person and it's open from sunrise to sunset. You can purchase your ticket online here. Preschool children and under do not need a ticket. There is a lot more to check out on their farm too!
Packer Orchards in Hood River and Sauvie Island Farm has beautiful but smaller fields. We had the hottest Summer this year, so the sunflowers seem to be blooming earlier than usual. Visiting the sunflower fields in Oregon is one of our favorite activities! Lee Farms also has a sunflower festival but I feel like the tickets are pretty expensive! They're $22 if purchased online.
Since this post went up last year, we headed out to West Union Gardens and it was insanely beautiful! There is a trail that goes through the middle which is perfect for exploring and photos. We stopped at McMenemin's Cornelius Pass before for dinner and it was just a few miles down the road.
West Union Garden's asks for a donation to take photos in their field, but you can enter the field at sunset!
Madi's outfit is from a local boutique, Le'D Bug Boutique
McKinlee's dress is from TJ Maxx
girls' bows are by Sophia's Rose Bows and we love them!
Packer Orchards holds their annual Sunflower Saturday in August, and this was our 2nd year attending. We ended up getting a late start and only made it with about an hour left. The girls still had fun playing in the corn kernels and the other kids activities they had going on. Packer sells the most amazing fruit and baked goods! It was such a hot day that the girls didn't last too long. We took a few photos and headed over to our favorite brewery, pFriem on the waterfront. They had an insanely long wait, so we let the girls play in the park across the street while we waited for our table.

This was our first time visiting Sauvie Island Farm and we'll definitely go back! The farm has TONS of crops and you pick everything! Pretty much anything you can think of, they have from veggies, corn, herbs, berries, peaches, apples, and all the flowers you can imagine.
They had the cutest sunflower field with a bunch of different sunflower varieties. Zinnias, cosmos, dahlias, peonies (obviously weren't blooming), marigolds, blue bells, etc were all blooming. Sauvie Island Farm has U-pick flowers too.
The girls and I picked some huge bouquets of sunflowers and zinnias. It's the cutest spot and there are so many other farms on the island to check out. The girls were pretty grumpy, so we didn't stay too long unfortunately.
see, they were grumps and not having any more pictures
Thanks so much for reading! See some of our other flower field posts here, here, here and here! Hope you're having a great start to fall!

This is a great synopsis Chelsee. It really helped with me planning my visits this year. I wonder if there is a fee for Sauvie Island. There's no fee for West Union Gardens but there is one for Packer Orchards. I'm just asking because I typically push no fee festivals and I think it engenders goodwill to actually spend money on the blooms. Just my 2 cents lol.
