Easy Fall Recipe

Simple Fall Pear Salad with Candied Pecans, Gorgonzola, and Homemade Dressing

Ingredients: – 6 cups salad of choice (I like arugula or baby romaine) – 1 pear of choice – Blue or Gorgonzola Cheese

Spiced candied pecans: – 3 cups pecans – 1 cup confectioners sugar – 1 tsp cinnamon – 1 tsp salt – 1 tbl water – 1 egg white

Balsamic dressing: – 3 tbl Balsamic Vinegar – 6 tbl Olive Oil – 1 tsp Dijon Mustard – 1 tsp honey – salt and pepper – citrus of choice (I used about 1 tsp of lemon juice) – 1 tbl chopped fresh thyme

Add salad to a bowl, add thinly sliced pears and gorgonzola cheese. Next, we'll make our candied pecans.

For our spiced candied pecans, mix water and egg white until frothy.  Mix pecans into egg wash until coated.  Then, mix up your dry ingredients

Combine both together, then spread out on a parchment lined pan and bake at 250 for around 30 minutes, turning every 10 minutes.

Add dressing and candied pecans to salad and serve!
