If you're considering investing in Cariloha bamboo sheets, here's exactly how mine have held up after five years of real life, hundreds of washes, and countless nights of sleep.
When I first ordered my Cariloha bamboo sheets almost five years ago, I remember staring at my shopping cart wondering one thing:

Can a set of sheets really be worth this much money?
I've always believed there are certain things in your home that are worth investing in. Quality window treatments. A comfortable sofa. A great Dutch oven that you'll use for years.
Sheets? I wasn't so sure.

Like most people, I'd always purchased decent cotton sheets from stores like Costco, Target, or HomeGoods and replaced them every few years. Spending several hundred dollars on bedding felt a little excessive. But after hearing so many people rave about Cariloha, I finally decided to give them a try. Fast forward nearly five years, and I'm still sleeping on the exact same set.
They've been washed hundreds of times, survived Arizona summers, lazy Sunday mornings, movie nights in bed with my daughters, and everyday life. They're not brand new anymore, which is exactly why I wanted to write this review. Most Cariloha reviews are written after someone has owned the sheets for a few nights or maybe a few weeks.
That isn't very helpful. What I wanted to know before buying was this:
What do Cariloha sheets actually look like years later?
Do they pill? Do they fade? Do they lose their softness? Do they still stay cool?
Most importantly...
Would someone actually buy them again after living with them for years?
Today I'm answering every one of those questions.
If you only read one section of this review, let it be this one.

Without hesitation, yes!
In fact, if I had to completely start over furnishing my home tomorrow, Cariloha sheets would be one of the very first purchases I'd make. Plus, they offer a 100 night trial so if you don't love them after 100 nights you can return them no questions asked!

After nearly five years, they're still:
✔ Incredibly soft
✔ Noticeably cooler than cotton sheets
✔ Comfortable year-round
✔ Holding up beautifully after hundreds of washes
✔ One of my favorite purchases I've ever made for our home
Now, that doesn't mean they're perfect. There are a few things I'd change, and I'll share those later because I want this review to be completely honest. But if your biggest question is simply whether they're worth the investment? My answer is absolutely yes.
Living in Arizona means I spend a good portion of the year trying to stay cool. Even with air conditioning, our summers are brutally hot, and I've always preferred bedding that feels light and breathable instead of heavy and warm. When I started researching bamboo sheets, I kept coming across Cariloha. People talked about how unbelievably soft they were and how much cooler they slept than traditional cotton sheets.

Honestly, I was skeptical. Every sheet company claims their bedding is softer, cooler, and more luxurious than everyone else's.
But after sleeping on these for nearly five years, I can confidently say there really is a noticeable difference. The first night I slept on them, the fabric almost surprised me. Instead of feeling crisp like hotel sheets or smooth like sateen cotton, bamboo has an almost silky feel that doesn't quite compare to anything else I've owned.
It's difficult to explain until you actually sleep on them. and somehow they've only gotten softer over time.
This is probably the section I was most excited to write because I couldn't find many long-term reviews before I bought mine.
I'll be adding plenty of close-up photos throughout this post so you can see exactly how they've held up, but here's the short version:
They've aged far better than I expected. The fabric still feels incredibly soft and the fitted sheet still hugs our mattress well. The seams still look great, and the pillowcases haven't fallen apart.

Most importantly, they don't look worn out. Of course, they don't look brand new either. After nearly five years of regular use and countless trips through the washing machine, I'd expect to see some signs of wear. That's normal, but nothing about them has made me think, "It's time to replace these."
Actually, every time I wash them and put them back on the bed, I'm reminded why I continue reaching for this same set instead of any others in my linen closet.
One of the biggest questions I had before buying was whether bamboo sheets pill over time. If you've ever owned inexpensive microfiber sheets, you probably know exactly what I'm talking about. They start out feeling nice, but after a year or two they can develop tiny fabric pills that completely change the feel of the sheets.

I'm happy to say I haven't experienced significant pilling with my Cariloha sheets. Considering how often we wash them, I've actually been really impressed. Of course, how you care for bamboo sheets makes a difference. I always wash mine according to Cariloha's care instructions and avoid using anything that could unnecessarily wear down the fibers.
If you're investing in premium sheets, spending a few extra minutes caring for them properly is absolutely worth it.
This is probably the question I get asked most. Yes! Honestly, if anything, they've become even more comfortable over time. They're made of a comfortable twill weave, so they're literally the softest sheets on the planet.
Some luxury bedding feels amazing right out of the package but gradually loses that "wow" factor. That hasn't been my experience. Every time I climb into bed, they still have that cool, buttery-soft feeling that made me fall in love with them in the first place. It's one of those little everyday luxuries you don't fully appreciate until you sleep somewhere else for a few nights.
Whenever we travel, I'm always excited to come home to my own bed, and my Cariloha sheets are a big reason why.
One of the biggest reasons I originally purchased Cariloha sheets was because I was constantly waking up feeling hot. Living in Arizona means we deal with triple-digit temperatures for months, so finding bedding that actually helps regulate temperature was a priority. Nearly five years later, this is still one of the biggest reasons I continue sleeping on them.
Do they feel ice cold? No. No sheet can completely overcome a warm room or replace good air conditioning. But compared to every cotton sheet set I've owned, Cariloha sheets simply don't trap heat the same way. Instead of feeling heavy or stuffy, they stay light and breathable throughout the night.

I especially notice the difference during the summer months. Even when it's still over 100° outside at bedtime, my sheets never feel like they're holding onto heat. If you're someone who sleeps hot, experiences night sweats, or simply prefers lighter bedding, I genuinely think this is where Cariloha shines. If you want a full break down on why these sheets are best for hot sleepers, make sure to check out this post where I do a deep dive on just how they're the best option.
This is where I think long-term reviews are so much more valuable than first impressions. Almost any luxury sheet set feels incredible when it's brand new. The real question is what happens after you've washed them...over and over...for years.

Here's what I've noticed after nearly five years.
The color has held up beautifully.
I haven't experienced noticeable fading, even after years of regular washing. The white is still a bright, gorgeous white!
The fitted sheet still fits snugly.
The elastic hasn't stretched out like so many other sheet sets I've owned. That's something I honestly appreciate every single time I make the bed.
The seams are still intact.
No loose stitching. No unraveling. No ripped pillowcases.
They still feel luxurious.
Maybe this is the biggest surprise. I expected them to gradually lose that "luxury" feeling over time. Instead, they still feel like premium sheets every time I climb into bed.
No product is perfect. If I'm going to recommend spending several hundred dollars on sheets, I also want to be honest about the things that aren't my favorite.
They wrinkle.
This is probably the biggest complaint you'll see online. Bamboo naturally wrinkles more than some cotton sheets. Personally? It doesn't bother me. I usually smooth them out while making the bed, and once they're on the mattress, I rarely think about it again. If you love that perfectly crisp hotel-bed look without any wrinkles, this is something to keep in mind.
They're definitely an investment.
Cariloha sheets aren't inexpensive. If you're used to buying $50 sheet sets, the price can feel like a big jump. I completely understand that hesitation because I felt exactly the same way before purchasing mine. Looking back nearly five years later, though, I've spread that investment across thousands of nights of sleep.
When I think about it that way, they've absolutely been worth it. Plus, if you use my Cariloha discount code HOOD30 you can save 30% off your total purchase which really adds up!
This answer is incredibly easy. Yes! Without hesitation. In fact, if I somehow ruined my current set tomorrow, I'd order another one immediately. Not because they're trendy. Not because I have an affiliate partnership. Because after sleeping on them for nearly five years, they've earned a permanent place in our home. There are very few products I can confidently say that about.

If you've been doing research on deciding between Cariloha sheets or Cozy Earth sheets, make sure to check out this post where I compare the two.
I think Cariloha sheets are an incredible investment if you:

the labels and bands make it so easy to make your bed
Considering we spend roughly a third of our lives in bed, upgrading something you use every night suddenly doesn't seem like such a crazy investment.
I also think it's fair to say Cariloha sheets aren't for everyone.
You may prefer another option if:
There's absolutely nothing wrong with that. Personally, though, once I switched to bamboo, I haven't wanted to go back.
While the sheets are still my number one recommendation, I've also become a fan of several other Cariloha products over the years.
If you're placing your first order, here's how I'd prioritize them.
Resort Bamboo Sheets
My absolute favorite product and the one I'd recommend to everyone.
Bamboo Pillowcases
If you're not ready to purchase an entire sheet set, pillowcases are a great way to experience the fabric for yourself.
Bamboo Comforter
Perfect if you love lightweight bedding that still feels cozy.
In my opinion, yes. After nearly five years of ownership, I can honestly say they've been one of the best home purchases I've made.
While I obviously can't predict exactly how long they'll last overall, mine are approaching five years of regular use and are still in excellent condition.
I haven't experienced significant pilling with my sheets after nearly five years. Proper washing and care definitely help extend their lifespan.
Yes. Like most bamboo fabrics, they wrinkle more than some cotton sheets. For me, the incredible softness and comfort more than make up for it.
Absolutely. This is one of the biggest reasons I continue recommending them. They're noticeably cooler than traditional cotton sheets and feel much more breathable throughout the night.
They do! The best one you'll find is my discount code which is HOOD30 and that will get you 30% off sitewide. It works on everything from sheets, to mattresses and even towels and apparel.
There are a lot of products I've purchased over the years that I loved initially but slowly stopped using. Cariloha sheets aren't one of them. Nearly five years later, they're still the sheets I reach for. They're still the sheets I recommend to friends and family, and they're still the sheets I look forward to climbing into every night.
I think that's probably the strongest endorsement I can give. If you're on the fence because of the price, I completely understand—I was too. But after living with them for nearly five years, I genuinely believe they've been worth every penny.
If you're ready to try them for yourself, don't forget to use my exclusive HOOD30 Cariloha discount code to save 30% off your purchase. It's the best discount Cariloha offers, and it's the same code I share with my friends and family whenever they ask where I bought my favorite sheets.
