We have been trying out a tried and true hairstyle for the girls. I have been perfecting my technique, so I thought I would share how to get soft bouncy curls with you! My mom used to do this to my hair when I was little, and it works so well! It's probably not something you would think of, but we use foam rollers to achieve their soft bouncy curls and it works like a charm!

I have purchased foam rollers from the dollar store, and they work ok but don't hold up very well. I recently picked these foam rollers up and they work like a dream! They come in a variety of sizes and I love the xs and s sizes for this hairstyle. The best part, they are under $8 for 48 rollers!
The soft bouncy curls will turn out the best when hair is just barely damp. We've done them before when the hair was too wet, and they never fully dried. You can also spray with a water bottle. I like this one for a soft/even spray.
I put the girls hair in a high pony tail with a scrunchy so it's less likely to leave a kink.
I like to separate hair in to half inch thick pieces. I lightly spray with hair spray, and then start the roll at the bottom of the hair. This is super important! I've tried rolling them from the top, and the curls didn't turn out. It takes several hours for the curls to set, so I like to do this hairstyle overnight. The girls actually don't mind, and it holds up the best. You can also do this in the morning, and the curls will be perfect by the evening. Once all pieces are rolled, I like to finish them off with a little hair spray to make sure they are set.
Once the rollers have been in for at least 5 hours, you can unroll them and you'll have the perfect soft bouncy curls! I like to spray them again with hair spray to make sure they are set. Then, take the pony tail out and you can either brush them out or put the hair up how you'd like. I typically don't brush them, but will put their hair half up with a rubber band and just comb around the curls. They should last an entire day and the next!
