I have the easiest recipe to share with you today! My super easy no bake 5 ingredient peppermint Oreo truffles are something I try to make every year during the holidays. I am all about the easy recipes, and this one doesn't disappoint! The girls even helped me, so this is something you can get your kiddos involved with. These peppermint Oreo truffles would be great to take with you to a holiday party or give as gifts.
First, you'll take your Oreos and crush them up. I use the entire Oreo cookie (some people take the middle out!). We have a Ninja so I just used that, but a food processor would work great too!
Next, you'll mix your cream cheese with your crushed Oreos in a bowl and add your peppermint extract. You can add more to get more of a peppermint flavor.
You'll then roll your Oreo/cream cheese mixture into about 1 inch balls. Place them on a cookie sheet on parchment paper and put them in the fridge for an hour or so.
While your Oreo balls are chilling, put your candy canes in a ziplock bag (we double bagged ours) and pound it until they are crushed. We used way too many! You really only need about a 3/4 cup of crushed candy canes.
Melt your chocolate in a microwave safe bowl. I melt about a half a cup or so at a time to avoid burning. Take your chilled Oreo balls out of the fridge once your hour is up. Make sure to have separate spoons for your candy canes and chocolate.
Take your chilled Oreo balls and dip them separately into your melted white chocolate. The Oreo balls start to melt into the hot chocolate, so I would recommend only melting half the bag at a time. I did the whole bag at once and it had Oreo specks in it.
When I had about 5 Oreo truffles dipped in white chocolate, I then used the candy cane spoon to sprinkle them on. You have to do this step when the chocolate is still wet! Once all your truffles have their crushed candy cane's on top, put the cookie sheet back in the fridge for them to set for another hour.
Thats it! The most time consuming part is waiting for them to chill. Otherwise, they are SO simple and taste SO good. You could put them in a mason jar with a cute tag for a gift or put them in a bow/platter to serve at a party. lHave you ever made these before? There are so many different variations you can do with these, so they're super versatile for any holiday. Thanks for reading!
