I know charcuterie means meats and cheeses, but these days anything goes! Some may call them snack boards or grazing trays, but either way I love them! We made this Christmas cookie charcuterie board last year for a Christmas party and I wanted to share it again for some inspiration for the holidays! I set up a fun and festive bar cart complete with all of the hot chocolate toppings and the ultimate cookie board to go with them. This was a great afternoon treat for us girls and our kids.
I shopped mainly at Trader Joes for all the fun Christmas cookies. They have the best variety in my opinion and the prices are great. I also love all their small chocolate treats too. They always have the cutest hot chocolate spoons. They have chocolate formed onto the spoon with mini marshmallows. So fun! I grabbed the Christmas tree marshmallows at Target as well as a lot of the hot chocolate toppings. They have crushed candy canes and all the fun sprinkles too!
The key to a great charcuterie board is to stack on all the things! More is more for sure. I love collecting Christmas mugs, cups, bowls etc. My favorite place to get them from is Anthropologie, Target, Macys, and HomeGoods. I grabbed this cute little Santa measuring cups last year from Anthropologie, but sadly they don't have them this year. I always love the mini latte bowls and grabbed the red, white and green ones last year too.
My all time favorite charcuterie backdrop is this board. I love that it has edges, so items don't fell off or out of it. It's made of acacia wood and wipes clean easily. It's also under $30 and it's a great size for a get together. I usually add on the mini latte bowls on it for smaller items. Add in a few garnishes and you're good to go! A cookie dessert board would a super fun way to display cookies during an exchange party.
One of my favorite things to set up for our girls and their friends is a DIY hot chocolate bar. We have some pretty long and dark winters, so I like setting this up during the afternoon for our girls. They get a total kick out of adding all the fun toppings onto their hot chocolate.
I wanted to share a few fun cookie boards that I found online. I'll link their sources below!
I love this board by my friend Jennifer over at Jennifer Maune!
