Friendsgiving Party Ideas - Decor and DIY's
It's almost that time of year, time to gather for the holidays! We love celebrating (even the made up holidays!), and one of our favorite things to do is host and attend Friendsgiving parties. I like to keep our Friendsgiving meal fairly simple, so I don't have to spend too much time in the kitchen.
I wanted to share a few fun Friendsgiving party ideas with you along with super simple DIY's. We also have a free Friendsgiving bingo card printable to play at your Friendsgiving and Thanksgiving gatherings. A super easy DIY is a brown paper table runner. I purchased paper bag wrapping paper to use as our runner. A white pen is perfect for writing down all that you're thankful for right on the runner. Or, guests can doodle, draw, write notes, etc. For our place cards, I placed tags with our guests names written on them in pinecones. I love the touch of nature to the table. A fun game to play with your guests is Bingo. I created a free printable for you to use. Each person can fill out their Bingo as the night goes on (the rules aren't super strict obviously). You can have a prize for whoever gets Bingo first!
Table Scape and Place Card Tutorial
For our table scape, I started with a roll of brown wrapping paper and laid it out on the table. Then, I put our buffalo check table runner down the middle. The brown paper can be used to write down a list of what everyone is thankful for, fall bucket list items, etc. It's a fun activity to keep the conversation at the table going! We used these white pens. For our place-cards, the girls and I collected pinecones from our neighborhood. This was also a fun activity for them! This is a great budget friendly option. We used gift tags to write our guests names in them. You could hot glue them to the pinecone, or just stick them in one of the pinecone slits. So easy and no need to purchase fancy place-cards!
For the rest of our table scape, I started with eucalyptus purchased at our local Walmart. Then, I put a wooden tray over the stems and piled pumpkins on. I love using a variety of colors, shapes, and heights to make it interesting. For our place settings, I used a jute charger and used simple white plates. I was able to find copper flatware which I think goes with our table scape perfectly! Since there is already a lot going on with the table scape, I wanted to make those simple. Along with our table scape, I created friendsgiving BINGO cards that guests can play throughout the gathering. This is a super casual game, so not a lot of rules. Just have fun! You can get your printable here. Just print them off and set them on your table along with pens that guests can use to check off items as they happen or as they hear them.
