Are you prepping for holiday visitors but your guest room has turned into a storage space? Today, I am sharing 7 ways to prep your guest bedroom for holiday visitors with Kohl's! I was shopping at Koh'ls the other day, and they have everything you need to make your out of town guests feel comfortable. I love updating our bedding for winter, and they have the coziest options.
The Big One Throw / The Big One Bedding Set
Ok, this one probably doesn't surprise you. One of my favorite things about staying in a hotel room is the crisp, fresh sheets and bedding. Well, that and having someone clean for me. The top thing you can do to prep your guest bedroom for holiday visitors is to get new bedding. You're probably thinking that will get pretty expensive, but Kohl's is having a winter bedding sale that runs from 11/7-11/18. They have a ton of great deals on their top brands including Serta, The Big One, CuddlDuds, and Columbia.
Who doesn't love fresh flowers? One way to make a place feel more like home is to include a bouquet of fresh flowers. I love getting a variety bouquet at the grocery store and turning it into a few bouquets by separating them. You could even add one to the guest bathroom. This is a really inexpensive way to wow your guests.
I have seen this idea floating around on Pinterest. Save all the hotel toiletries from your travels and put them in an apothecary jar for your guest bath (or bedroom). You should also tell them ahead of time that you will provide toiletries so that they don't have to pack their own. I always know that when we stay at my friend Sarah's beach house, her family has body wash and shampoo/conditioner so we don't have to worry about bringing our own. It's a nice touch!
It's also a great idea to make sure to stock up on the essentials, like toilet paper. It would be pretty awful for them to run out in the guest bathroom!
Guests like to have some alone time in their room to wind down. It's a great idea to grab a few current magazines to put in your guest bedroom to give them something to relax with. This is another inexpensive way to make them more comfortable.
A nice touch is to provide a basket with some light snacks in your guest room. Ask them ahead of time what they like to munch on. Providing water bottles is also a great idea.
If you're like us, our guest room was mostly used as a storage space with the door closed most of the time. Prior to guests arriving, open the windows for fresh air. You can also set a candle out with some matches. I love essential oils, so you could also set out a diffuser with a couple of blends.
Make sure to stock up on fresh pillows for your guest bedroom. I would also purchase extra pillows as well. Some people sleep with one pillow and some like a few! Kohl's carries a ton of different pillow options from Serta, The Big One, and Columbia for a great price. Again, their Winter Bedding Sale runs from 11/7-11/18. It's the perfect time to get all the winter bedding necessities at a great price. You should also make sure to provide extra blankets so they are comfortable and so the space is cozy. I love the throw blankets by The Big One (pictured) for a bedroom or even a couch blanket. They are also a great deal. This one was on sale for $19.99 (and it's huge!).
