We received a complimentary stay at Hotel Rose in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are 100% our own!
January is such a boring month, so we decided to do a staycation in our own city, Portland Oregon! I've been admiring Hotel Rose in downtown Portland for a while now, so we decided to book our stay there for the weekend. We lucked out with no rain for the entire weekend! Do you ever do staycations? They are a fun way to get away from real life without having to travel too far. We love our city, but don't get out often enough to explore! I'm so excited to share our staycation at Hotel Rose in Portland Oregon!
We arrived on Friday afternoon just in time for a beautiful sunset. Hotel Rose was kind enough to give us two adjoining rooms for us and for the girls. It was the perfect set up! The girls had double beds and we had a king. Our room overlooked the city and the waterfront and was a beautiful view. The Hotel Rose staff had a gorgeous cheese plate and brut rosé in our room upon check in. The hotel is located in a really great spot in the city, just steps to the waterfront and 2 blocks from the nearest Max station (our cities transportation system). It would be a great spot to stay when there are events at the waterfront (like Brewfest, Rose Festival, etc).
Hotel Rose is a Staypineapple hotel. Staypineapple offers fun and funky accommodations in Portland, Seattle, San Diego, San Francisco, Chicago, Boston and New York. I can't wait to check out the other locations. The ambiance of the hotel was different than any where else we have stayed before. The staff was so kind and welcoming and our room was equipped with anything we might need during our stay. Their beds were one of the most comfortable we've ever slept in! The beds have double duvets so each person gets their own. Staypinapple rooms come with fluffy robes too. One of my favorite parts about staying at a hotel!
Dash the Staypineapple dog! The girls took him everywhere with us!
For our first night, we decided to take the girls to the Pearl District for dinner and dessert. We went to Von Ebert Brewing which is really kid friendly. They have the best wings in the city (you HAVE to try them!). After dinner, we walked across the street to The Cookiedough Cafe. You guys have to check this spot out. It is basically set up like an ice cream shop but with cookie dough!
We ended up heading up to North West Portland for breakfast at one of our favorite spots, Stepping Stone Cafe. If you go, get the Man Cakes! They are HUGE and so good. Also, try to get here early because it gets busy and it's a small restaurant. After breakfast, we headed back to the hotel and hopped on The Max and headed to The Oregon Zoo! We hadn't gone to the zoo in quite a while, so we thought it would be the perfect time to go. Unfortunately, there are quite a few exhibits closed due to renovations so I think we'll wait until they open them in 2020 to go again. We still had fun though!

After the zoo, we hopped on The Max and headed over to VooDoo Doughnut. It is definitely a must see if you're visiting Portland for the experience alone! The doughnuts are really yummy, but I have to say I prefer Blue Star personally. Once we were done with our doughnuts, we took the girls back home where they stayed with Grandma overnight!
McKinlee is really into her bubble gum doughnut
Madi slept through our doughnut date
so she ate hers back in the hotel room!
We are so thankful that my mom was able to watch the girls overnight so Ryan and I could have a date night at Hotel Rose! Ryan and I started the night with a drink at Hotel Rose's restaurant, Bottle + Kitchen. Their happy hour menu looked amazing, so we decided to stop here at the end of the night. We ended up going to Imperial for dinner and it was the most amazing meal of my life! It was a quick 10 minute walk from the hotel (again, Hotel Rose is in such a great location!). If you go to Imperial, get the fried chicken with pickles, honey, and hot sauce. Trust me, it was life changing!
After Imperial, we headed to Saucebox for drinks. This was one of my old stomping grounds from my early twenties and they have great cocktails and sushi. We ended the night at Bottle + Kitchen inside Hotel Rose. They had an amazing happy hour with small bites that were perfect.
Have you ever stayed at a Staypinapple hotel? You'll have to check them out next time you're traveling! Thank you so much for reading, and please let me know if you have any questions!
