Back to School, Little's Fashion, Style
This post is sponsored by Everywhere Agency on behalf of OshKosh B'gosh; however, all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.
It seems like summer has flown by so far! Back to school time is upon us, but luckily we still have a few weeks left of sweet summer. We are going to take advantage of every last drop! McKinlee starts the school year in September. I can tell she is ready to get back to her school friends and her favorite teachers! She will be in pre-K this year for three half days a week. Luckily, we live in the same neighborhood as her two best school buddies so we've been able to have lots of play dates with them. There are SO many cute back to school clothing items out in the stores right now. It's hard to resist, so we've been buying a few things here and there. I am beyond thrilled to be partnering up with one of my favorite brands, to share a back to school capsule wardrobe for little girls.
The girls and I (and Grandma of course) headed to our local OshKosh B'gosh store. I have been dressing the girls in OshKosh since they were babies. Of course my mom dressed me in OshKosh too and she even saved a few pairs of overalls from when I was little (they are hanging up in Madi's closet right now!). I couldn't believe how many cute things we found! We also had a 25% off coupon and some rewards. OshKosh also had a ton of cute accessories too. McKinlee wanted to take home one of everything.
McKinlee picked out just about every item we went home with. She was immediately drawn to the flip sequins tops, so we went home with two of those! According to her, they are the 'coolest ever'. The tulle skirt was another one of her favorites and I love that it can be mixed and matched. We also chose denim overalls, a fresh denim jacket, a denim skirt, a fun leopard print dress, a blush bomber jacket, and a blush tee. A couple of pairs of sparkly sneakers came home with us too. McKinlee was in love with these (she loves all things sparkly!). It's so fun seeing her personal style show through and helping to guide her to what works together and is appropriate (like when she comes downstairs to go to the store in a yellow tutu, a red tshirt, and boots when it's 95 out).
If you aren't familiar with a capsule wardrobe, it is a collection of a few basic items that don't go out of style and can be mixed and matched. So for this capsule wardrobe we picked up at OshKosh, our basics are the denim skirt, the denim jacket, the overalls, and the leopard print dress (yes, I consider leopard a basic). I also feel like the pink bomber jacket is another basic and will go with so many items in McKinlee's closet. The fun pieces are the sequins tops, the sparkle shoes and the tulle skirt. We chose a basic color that can be mixed with several items. A capsule wardrobe is great to think of when planning back to school especially if you're on a budget. I love getting basics that will last you a while (and through several seasons) that you can mix with other items in your closet.
