Are you looking for a fun and easy craft idea you can do with your kids during the colder months? My girls and I recently made these adorable winter scene snow globes and we had so much fun with them! Most importantly they were simple and the girls had fun. When we're having a crafting day, we of course must have our favorite snack nearby at all times. Sunbelt Bakery Chewy Granola Bars and Fruit & Grain Bars are the perfect snack to eat while creating this fun DIY!
I have two options for you if you are wanting to make these. One option is grabbing an empty snow globe from your local craft store or dollar store. They typically have a lot of these out during the holidays. If you aren't able to find one of these empty snow globes, you can always use a mason jar. Grab a smaller one and you'll follow along but glue the items to the underside of the lid.
Our girls love their snack time and we are always turning to our favorite Sunbelt Bakery Chewy Granola Bars and Fruit & Grain Bars. They always ask for them in their lunch and for their snack at school! I love that they're super easy to take with us on the go or when we're running out the door!
Today, the girls are snacking on Sunbelt Bakery Chewy Granola Bars in the Oats & Honey flavor as well as the Fruit & Grain Bars in the Strawberry flavor. Yum! Each of their granolas snacks are made with fresh-tasting, whole-grain goodness and no preservatives! We love the bakery-fresh taste, too. To locate Sunbelt Bakery products, click here!
You can put any trinkets inside that your child likes (mini deer, mini dinosaur, a few houses, etc) . We took a small bottle brush tree and added spray adhesive and glitter. We also cut out little houses out of cardboard and painted them for our "scene". Hot glue scrubby yarn to the top to add a little something extra. You can also grab the fake snow from the craft store/dollar store or use epsom salt. We also added glitter to our snow of course!
Madi was super proud of her creation!
Once you have your trinkets/items for your snow globe scene, hot glue them to the flat plastic bottom. I used sand paper to rough ours up so the hot glue would stick. You'll definitely want to do the hot glueing step for your little ones so they stay safe!
create a funnel with paper to avoid a huge mess!
Next step is to add your snow once all glue has dried. Make a funnel out of paper and place it in your snow globe. Have your little one pour a small amount of "snow" and glitter into the globe. Make sure it's not too much to cover up your scene. Then, you'll take the scene side of your globe and place it on the globe to cover the snow. Turn it over and screw the bottom on. That's it!
You can also glue a looped string to the top of the snow globe to create an ornament if you'd like!
aren't they so cute?!
If you want to add a little something more, you can hot glue velvet ribbon onto the bottom of the globe. Our girls had so much fun making these and they have them displayed on the shelves in their playroom!
