Holiday Entertaining - Hot Chocolate and Christmas Cookie Board Party

This post about our hot chocolate and Christmas cookie board party is sponsored by Huhtamaki, Inc. makers of the Chinet® brand. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Since Thanksgiving is so late this year, Christmas is going to be here quickly!  I want to make the most of our short holiday season this year. We decided to throw a fun kick-off to the holidays party with a few girlfriends and their kids!  I centered our party around a hot chocolate bar and a Christmas cookie charcuterie board which you really can't go wrong with.  We made it into an afternoon play date and had the best time! Thanks to the Chinet® brand, set up and clean up was a breeze!

You guys know I love a good charcuterie board, and a Christmas cookie board was just calling my name!  I invited just a few close girlfriends and their kids over for the fun. We all have kids right around the same age, so it's super nice for them to all play together!  I try to have some sort of activity or craft for the kids to do at our parties. I picked up a Christmas cookie ornament set for them to decorate and it was a hit! Chinet® products were the perfect touch to our party.  We used the Chinet® Classic White square dessert plate for the kids to decorate their cookies and they were the perfect size.  I love how durable they are especially for kids! For as messy as they were with their sprinkles I'm thrilled that the clean up was a breeze.  Just toss when done! I also used the Chinet® Classic White™ tablecover for the kid’s table.  This was the perfect addition for under their craft, making clean up even easier!

Hot Chocolate Bar

I love setting up fun and festive bar carts.  Hot chocolate setups are always so fun during the holidays!  To set this cart up, I usually stack cake plates and some festive cups and bowls that I've collected for our toppings.  Add in all the red and green sprinkles, marshmallows, whipped cream, and stir sticks. For our cups, we used Chinet® Comfort Cup® insulated hot cups.  The cute snowflake design is perfect for the holidays and can be found at your local Costco  or online here! They were perfect for our hot chocolate.  It's also nice that they come with lids so if guests want to take theirs to go, they can!  I'm definitely going to be putting my coffee-to-go in these cups for the holiday season.  They're so festive!

Christmas Cookie Board

Like I said before, one of my favorite things to put together are charcuterie boards so I thought I'd do something similar but with cookies.  The display is super impressive and you really can't mess them up!  I picked up all the cookies from our local grocery store and just piled them on the board in groups.  Set a few small bowls on the tray for some dimension and for smaller items.  Thats really it!  The Chinet Classic White square dessert plate was perfect for guests to pick their favorite cookies to enjoy.
