Our 22 Hour Trip to Seattle

Thank you to the Hyatt at Olive 8 for inviting us to stay with you in exchange for an honest review!  We also received complimentary tickets to Enchant for our stay.

Cute Seattle wall we found in Queen Anne

Seattle has always had a special place in my heart, so I was super excited to take the girls up for a night to explore the city!  Ryan and I had our 3rd date in Seattle when I had to go up for a work Christmas party.  I spent a fair amount of time working in Seattle at a previous job, and always loved my time there.  I would stay in Queen Anne and loved that part of the city.  When the Hyatt at Olive 8 invited us for a stay, we couldn't say no!  It was a great 22 hour trip to Seattle.  Bonus points, it didn't rain on us at all!

Our 22 Hour Trip to Seattle

Ryan took Friday off work and we headed to Seattle after we picked up the girls from school.  Seattle is just a 3 hour drive from Portland, and I can't believe we haven't taken the girls up there yet!  The Hyatt at Olive 8 was in the perfect location.  It was just about a 10 minute walk to Pike Place Market and just a couple of blocks to the Nordstrom flagship store.  The staff was super welcoming and our room was ready early for us!  The Hyatt Olive 8 put us in a huge corner room with lots of space for the girls to play.  Our room had a gorgeous view of the city.

We had dinner at Urbane and our meal was fabulous!  The girls got mac and cheese and grilled cheese, and Ryan and I got steaks.  They were surprisingly kid friendly but still felt fancy.  We didn't feel out of place having our girls with us.  After dinner, we headed to the indoor pool to let the girls get some energy out!  On Saturday, we grabbed a quick breakfast at their coffee shop before exploring Seattle.

When we arrived Friday afternoon, we checked into our hotel and then headed to Safeco Field where the Mariners play to experience Enchant.  Enchant is the worlds largest Christmas light maze.  It was such a magical experience and the girls were freaking out at all the lights!  You can visit Santa and Mrs. Clause, ice skate, visit the Christmas market, and sip some hot chocolate.  I highly recommend visiting if you're in the area during Christmas time!

Saturday morning and early afternoon was spent exploring Seattle!  The Hyatt at Olive 8 has a noon check out, but they extended it to 1pm for us so we didn't have to rush to pack up!  First, we headed down to Pike Place market and the girls were mesmerized.   It really is a must visit spot when you make a trip to Seattle.  We also went on the Seattle Great Wheel and it was a nice spot to relax after all the walking we did.  You can also ride the carousel and visit the aquarium down on the water!  Seattle has a lot of great things to see and activities for young kids.

Queen Anne

On our way out of Seattle, we headed up to Queen Anne to visit Kerry Park to let the girls run around before our ride home.  The park has gorgeous views of the city, and on clear days you can see Mt. Rainier.  We stopped for lunch at Dick's Drive-In for a quick burger and then headed home.
