This post is sponsored by Musselman's Applesauce, however all thoughts and opinions are our own.
Our girls love muffins and they've really developed a love for baking over the past few months. We had a super rainy and dreary Sunday this last weekend. I thought it would be a great time to bake! Plus, McKinlee goes back to school this week, so these will be great to pack for her snack. We made super simple homemade cinnamon apple muffins with applesauce as the secret ingredient! I have to be completely honest, I've never made homemade muffins, always from the box. We usually add other things in, but I couldn't believe how easy muffins from scratch were. These muffins had a secret ingredient; Musselman's Applesauce!
Adding applesauce can really help lower the added fat from oil, make your muffins super moist and add some sweetness. For our recipe, we also added butter but no oil was used. The girls also snacked on Musselman's Strawberry Applesauce Squeezables (they might have had two each). It's fun getting them involved and they love helping to measure out our ingredients. Also, funny story. As I was making the crumble I had my back (stupidly) turned to the girls and McKinlee put about a tablespoon of cinnamon in her mouth. She started crying and I couldn't figure out how she got chocolate. Then, I realized it was cinnamon! I felt so bad for her, but she'll probably never do that again!
Do you have any go to muffin recipes? I'd love to hear about them! Thanks so much for reading and be sure to check out our other post with Musselman's here!
