I have a super easy and fun recipe/activity to do with your kids for Halloween! These ghosts and goblins Halloween brownies were a hit with the girls. They LOVE to bake and beg for us to make cookies/brownies/cake every other day. I also love easy (especially when you are baking with kids) and this one was almost more of an art project.
Although, they tasted really good! I originally saw this on Betty Crocker's Instagram, and knew we had to recreate it with pink ghosts!
I can't believe Halloween is just about a week away. What the heck happened to October? I swear, the year is going so slowly yet so quickly at the same time. Before we know it, Christmas will be here!
We used a Betty Crocker brownie mix and baked it according to the directions. Cut them into 4 inch squares and set them on parchment paper. For our ghosts, we 'glued' a marshmallow on top of the cooled brownie with our melted chocolate.
For the ghost, we melted about a cup of white chocolate chips in the microwave. I like to use white chocolate chips over the baking chips. They seem waxy to me!
Once your chocolate chips are melted, I add in 1-2 drops of pink food coloring and mix. Then, I pour a small amount over the marshmallow until it's covered like a ghost. Put on candy eyes and you're done! Put them in the fridge to set for about 30 minutes.
I microwave them in 15 second intervals mixing in between. I add a 1/2 tbl. of coconut oil to make the melted chocolate thinner. This works really well! In the past I have melted chocolate and it can get too chunky which you don't want for something like this!

I know we're winding down our Halloween activities, but we love to make a few treats like these throughout the season. I hope you and your little ones love making these as much as we did! Looking for a fun Halloween craft? Make sure to click here to check them out!
