October 2023 Update

I found a great new way to hang your giant spiders on your home. We recently moved to Arizona and have a stucco home vs. wood so I needed to come up with a new way to hang our spiders. Cord bundlers are a great alternative to hanging your spiders on your house especially if you have brick or stucco.

You'll use these to attach the legs (you only need to attach 2 on each side, the other legs will stay put with the wire) and one to attach the back of the spider. The cord bundler will wrap around the legs and also stick to your house. The other methods work great as well if you have a wood/siding.

Let's Hang Huge Creepy Spiders on Your Home!

First of all, we need to purchase our extra large spiders. You'll want to get on this quickly because last year, they sold out. Here are a few of my favorite options:

How to hang giant spiders on your house! 🕸🕷🕸🕷 I’m linking all of my favorite spiders over on my LTK along with everything we used to hang them. Also, check the blog for more photos and details (search ‘spiders’). Grab these spiders now from Amazon so you’ll be ready to get them up for Halloween! We used command hooks, zip ties to tie them to the command hooks (there is a hook on the backs of the spiders), and then we staple gunned the legs to our house. If you don’t have a home that allows for this, just use smaller command hooks and zip tie a couple of the legs to them. The have bendy legs so you can bend them into shape and they should stay put. Do they fall off? We’ve now done this for 3 years and we’ve never had one fall off or fly away! They also do just fine in the rain. 🎃👻☠️ Are you going to put up giant creepy spiders on your home for Halloween this year? #halloweendecor #halloweenideas #halloween2023 #halloweendecortrends #gianthalloweenspiders #spiderdecor #outdoorhalloweendecor #halloweenporch https://liketk.it/4hjrc

You'll need a tall ladder to complete this project and a staple gun. I know what you might be thinking. You want me to staple these to my house?! The holes were very minimal and we filled them and painted them as we took the spiders down last year and have had no issues!

This obviously won't work for a brick home. The other option is to hang them using command hooks. If you go this route, I'd suggest zip tying the loop to the command hook to make them extra secure. Our try our new method, cord bundlers!

Using command hooks worked really well for hanging them around our door. They most likely would have come off on the outside of the house due to all the rain we get here. You can also zip tie them to the command hooks for extra security.

If you do go the command hook route, I would use these ones. They have a very prominent hook so you should easily be able to zip tie the spiders tightly to. This worked really well for us last year!

If you live in a drier climate, command hooks might be your best bet!

The staple gun is my preferred method though! We didn't lose one spider all season. You'll want to place your spider where you want him on your home.

Then, staple the legs close to the body so it holds. The legs are bendable, so you will be able to bend them how you like. Staple the legs where you want them to stay and that's it!
