All our holiday decor is down and I am ready for a living room decor refresh! My favorite times of the year to decorate are after the holidays and for Fall. I do love decorating for Christmas, it just gets a little overwhelming to look at after a few weeks. A fresh start in the new year gets me so excited and our living room decor refresh with sage green is the perfect change!
our couch is custom made from a local furniture store here in Portland called Gallery Furniture
While our living room felt super bare, I had an epiphany that our space needed some pops of sage green. Why sage green? I love the muted color of sage that isn't mint but also not bright of a green. It's very calming and feels like Winter but also feels like a transition into Spring.

Sage green feels very neutral and pairs well with the decor we already have. I love it with our beige couch, white walls, black accents, and natural woods.
basket (this is amazing for storing all our blankets!)
My favorite way to refresh our home each season is to completely take down all existing decor. I take everything off the shelves, and tables and set them on our dining room table. Then, I go through everything I have and decide where I want it to live for the current season.
I even take things out of our bedroom to move things around. I'll go ahead and call this shopping your own home! It helps stay on budget and not be wasteful.

I'll remove neutral/non-seasonal items I don't want for now and store them in cabinets/closets. I ended up grabbing a few pillows from HomeGoods and Target. We have a lot of faux greenery, so I just added a cute little plant in a wooden vase.
I ended up switching out the hyacinth baskets for this cane one and I'm in love!
For updated lighting, I grabbed this new white lamp from HomeGoods. I also got a second one for our dining room buffet. If there are items I no longer want, I'll either sell them on Facebook Marketplace or donate them.
I think sage green is great on it's own. It could also pair nicely with a muted red or even a dusty rose color. A muted yellow would also work well! Sage green also goes with a variety of decor styles such as farm house or mid century modern.

Hey Chelsee! I am in the Portland ‘burbs too. I am in the market for a sectional and love yours. I saw you said it’s from Furniture Gallery. How long have you had it and how has it held up? What is the color? It looks like they only have it available in Slate but yours looks more beige than gray. Enjoying your blog!
Hi! Thanks so much for reaching out! Ours is from gallery furniture - https://galleryfurniturepdx.com/ and the brand is Stanton which is a local company. They are able to customize them to however you want (sectional, wedge in the corner, chaise, etc) along with the fabric. If you're able to go into the store, you can look at all the different fabrics they have. Ours is definitely beige and we LOVE it! We've had it for around 6 months and it's held up perfectly. Let me know if you have any other questions!
Wow!
Must be took a while to get all those set up.
Your decors really calm and fresh. Nice post Chelsee!
