One of our most asked questions over on Instagram is what color our bedroom paint color is. I figured I'd put together a blog post sharing all about this gorgeous color and why we chose it. Sherwin Williams Sea Salt paint is the most perfect color if you're going for a coastal vibe.
It's also a great pop of color if you still want your decor/interiors to stay mostly neutral too. Our bedroom has been shared several places including Serena & Lily and in the magazine Farmhouse Decor (for the board and batten tutorial).

UPDATE! We recently moved to Arizona and decided that we loved our old bedroom so much that we'd recreate it! We decided to space the board and batten a bit differently, but used the same paint color. You'll notice it looks quite a bit mintier in here. Our house faces East and it did face West at our old home in Oregon.

Sherwin Williams Sea Salt paint is a beautiful minty green with grey undertones. It doesn't have a 'pastel/nursery' feel to it though. Here is the paint information: R:205G:210B:202, hex value #cdd2ca and the LRV is 63.
With the higher LRV (light reflectance value) it bounces light off at a higher level so it will make your space feel light and bright.
Sherwin Williams Sea Salt pairs well with SW Spare White. Although we have it paired with Sherwin Williams Pure White and it looks gorgeous. It is considered a 'green' paint but it can be a bit of a chameleon. Sea Salt can look blue in some lighting situations.
Our bedroom gets East facing morning light and it definitely is more of a green tone. We also have it painted in our powder bath paired with Pure White and it looks the same. That room gets zero natural light.
you can see that when painted on this door from Simple Loving Home, the color looks blue!
In my opinion, Sea Salt is a very light and airy paint color that goes perfect in a bedroom, bathroom or laundry room. It tends to be a cooler color vs. warm. Again, it is a chameleon paint color so I would highly suggest painting a large swatch in your space and viewing it in different lighting situations.

I've had a lot of comments that people have chosen this paint and it looks blue. I was not going for a blue color so I'm glad it came out green for us!
I have found that Sea Salt pairs really well with natural woods, pops of black and textured whites (bedspread). It also looks great with rattan and cane. It has a very beachy feel to me, so this is why I think it pairs well with these colors.

I have seen it used in a bedroom with a black metal bed frame and it actually looked really great together!
