Summer Bucket List with Kids - Create the Best Summer Yet!

This post is sponsored by Sunbelt Bakery. All thoughts and opinions are 100% our own!

Summer is finally here and we are SO ready! I want to make the most out of the time off with the girls because it goes so darn fast. We have them signed up for a few Summer camps, but mostly have our schedule open for adventures! In case you didn't know, we live right outside of Portland Oregon and there are so many great adventuring spots. We usually head to the beach several times over the Summer, a few hikes, and get out on the water as much as possible. I wanted to share a few tips and tricks for being able to be relaxed and prepared when it comes to checking off those items on your summer bucket list with kids!

Summer Bucket List with Kids

Getting out and about with your kids can take a little pre-planning so it's a happy adventure, not a stressful one! I wanted to share a few of my tips for getting out this Summer for adventures with your kids, especially if you're solo parenting.

  1. Pack all the snacks! I swear, during the Summer especially my girls are snack monsters! My favorite go-to snacks are Sunbelt Bakery Chewy Granola Bars! They LOVE the flavor and I love that they're made with fresh-tasting, whole-grain goodness and no preservatives! We love the bakery-fresh taste, too. To locate Sunbelt Bakery products, click here!
  2. Plan ahead! We like to adventure earlier in the day so I try my best to pack everything we need the night before so there aren't any meltdowns in the morning. This might include packing your mom bag (beach bag, towels, sunscreen, toys, snacks, etc). Plan out your route if you're driving so you know how long it will take to get there.
  3. Bring friends! Everything's more fun with friends! I try to convince a friend or two to go with me on our adventure. It's always nice to have a little extra help with a second adult too.
  4. Make sure your car is ready to go for the day. Pack up chairs, wagons, strollers, etc.
  5. Create a bucket list that your family can check off as the Summer goes. This will keep your days exciting and give you something to look forward to. It doesn't have to be anything crazy. Even an outing to get smoothies at your favorite food carts can be a fun activity to break up the day.
  6. Keep your emergency car kit stocked and ready. I share more about that here, but it's basically a tote with everything that your little one's might need (bandaids, antiseptic, an extra water bottle, sunscreen, extra underwear, a swim suit, an extra change of clothing, hair ties, a brush, sunglasses, etc).
