Our sweet McKinlee Mae, the girl who made me a mama turned 5 over the weekend! FIVE sounds so big! Most of my memories started around age 4-5. I want to make things super memorable for her (and Madi too!) and I love putting in the little details for her special day. Her birthday fell on a Sunday this year, so we celebrated McKinlee for the whole weekend! McKinlee requested a princess themed party so we gave her a princess party! The girls are both SUPER into dressing up, so when McKinlee asked for princesses I knew we had to get Little Adventure's Dress up involved! They were kind enough to send dresses (and a few super hero costumes) over for the girls and their friends! We also received some amazing personalized party supplies/decor from For Your Party. You'll have to check them out for all your party needs!
My mom purchased the princess castle and accessories from Home Goods 4 years ago! She just knew that McKinlee (Madi wasn't around yet) would want a princess themed party at some point. I'm so glad we saved them, because they were the perfect touch to our party. I wasn't able to find the castle online, but did find a matching carriage here. The kids really enjoyed their Little Adventures Dress Ups and they were the hit of the party! The had so much fun dressing up and playing together. McKinlee requested hot dogs (of all things) for her princess party. I also made a sweet princess snack mix, and it was super addicting. Let me know if you want the recipe!

We decided to put the majority of the party decor outside. Unfortunately, it rained for quite a bit of the party so we didn't get to spend much time outside. I obviously had to put up a balloon garland and some tassels! Check out our super easy balloon garland tutorial here! For Your Party sent us personalized cups, napkins, and goody bags. They're such a great place to go for party decor!

We surprised McKinlee with a visit by the cutest white and turquoise ice cream truck! Sweet Ride PDX stopped by with ice cream for the kids and to play ice cream themed games. It was a really fun activity and the kids really enjoyed it!
a little rain wouldn't stop these kids from playing ice cream games!
If you saw my Instagram stories, you might have seen how terrified the kids were by this candle! It was so cute, so totally worth it. Ha!
I think this will be the last party we have at home (I swear I say this every year!) since the kids are getting older. Thanks as always for reading! Make sure to check out our other birthday parties for inspiration! McKinlee's Paw Patrol party, Madison's One in a Melon Party, and McKinlee's Fairy party!
Pin this for later!
